Willy Gort

Hon. Wifredo Gort, Chair Hemispheric Congress

Commissioner Wifredo “Willy” Gort is the Chair of the City of Miami Commission and the Chair of the Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry.Chairman Gort has been at the forefront of international trade and business development for over three decades. As Chair of the Hemispheric Congress, CAMACOL’s international forum, which has enjoyed a 37 year track record, he has paved the way for innovative initiatives and efforts to expand business linkages in the global marketplace. His vision has enabled the Hemispheric Congress to look ahead and integrate such important markets as Asia and the EU. He has also enabled the expansion of the Congress toward Poland, as the Gateway to Central Eastern Europe and a country which he has visited twice in the last year. His forward thinking has also expanded the scope of the Hemispheric Congress to include diverse sectors such as IT and the Film and Entertainment Sector, including digital media and content.


  Patty Arias, Executive Producer Miami Media and Film Market

Patty has been involved in public service for more than 30 years and has developed programs and initiatives on a local, national and international level. In 2008 Ms. Arias founded the Miami Media and Film Market and currently serves as its ExecutivPatty Arias bioe Producer. Ms. Arias was named International Business Woman of the Year by the World Trade Center/Miami, presented with the Governor’s Business Ambassador Medal, for the State of Florida, and has served as a member of the international jury for the “Premios Platinos” (the Latin ‘Oscars’). She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami with a major in history and a minor in political science, and a Certificate in Foreign Studies from the Universite D’Avignon. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Italian , with a working knowledge of German.

Jose began his career as a booking agent for South Florida talent over 12 years ago. After a transition to Los Angeles, he worked on a motion picture production desk at what is Jose Luisnow ICM Partners. He returned to Miami and was involved with the Miami International Film Festival to help plan and execute its 25th Anniversary edition; an eleven day event that featured world premiers of A-list talent. He has served as producer on several independent feature films. He is currently directing Communications and Media for the Foundation for the Foundation of Human Rights in Cuba which has launched an ambitious digital media project “Connect Cuba”, a campaign to bring greater internet connectivity and human rights awareness to the island. Mr. Martinez is a graduate of the University of Miami’s School of Communication, majoring in Motion Pictures and Theater Arts.
